Saab BioPower is already available in the Saab 9-5 saloon and estate.  The Saab Aero X takes Saabs BioPower to new levels.  This time the Aero X is fuelled only on 100% bioethanol.

The Aero X is powered by a 2.8 litre turbocharged V6 producing 400bhp incorporating a new 4 wheel drive system giving super performance while being environmentally friendly with green emissions and no CO2.  With the green initiative being prominent in Sweden and petrol taxes being high, BioPower has been embraced and is ever more popular in Sweden.

Like most concept cars, it is unlikely that the Aero X will ever go into production but Saab hopes some features of the concept will be used in future generations of main stream cars.

Saabs aviation heritage can clearly be seen in the Aero X, namely the cockpit cover which opens by moving forward to give access to for the driver and passenger giving a clear unrestricted 180 degree view as there are no pillars.
