The latest version of
the Official Government “New car fuel consumption and emission figures”
booklet clearly proves Citroën’s unbeatable fuel economy credentials,
with the Company posting three of the top four positions in the chart of
Britain’s lowest CO 2 and most frugal diesel models.
In confirming its
credentials as a producer of low cost, environmentally friendly small
cars, the Citroën C1, C2 and C3 all achieved over 65 mpg in the official
combined consumption cycle tests.
The new Government
booklet, compiled by the Vehicle Certification Authority, also
illustrates the cost of fuel required to cover 12,000 miles (the assumed
annual mileage). Here, no car beats the Citroën C1, with a running
figure of £744, followed closely by the C2 and C3 at just £781.
The ultra-economical
city and supermini models are complemented in the Citroën range by a
number of other “green” vehicle technologies, including the Company’s
unique Stop & Start system, now available on both C2 and C3, its frugal
Common Rail HDi engines and the Diesel Particulate Filter System, which
reduces particulate emissions to so low a level as to be virtually
unmeasurable.

I brought a brand new C2 last year. I'm
over 6ft, its one of the best small car I have driven. Been up to Port
Williams couple of times. Superb drive!!Only problem I noticed is during
rain. The driver side wiper don't go all the way touching the 'A' pillar
not clearing the water from the top part of the windsheild!!!!!! Its
hard for visibility taking or going around bends and corners.

I've had my Citroen C2 (1.1) two
years now. I was worried about the size and power of the little
C2 (my previous car had been a SAAB 93). I needn't have worried -
the C2 has been brilliant: trouble free, flexible seat/storage
positions, economical.
