The surge in customer demand for
hybrid power has reached new
heights, accounting for almost
one in every three new Lexus
models sold in the UK. Motorists
are making a considered choice
to opt for the unmatched
combination of lower emissions,
fuel efficiency and performance
offered by Lexus Hybrid Drive
technology, helping push sales
to record levels.
So
far this year, the RX 400h is
Lexus’s best selling model in
Europe, representing a 24 per
cent share of European sales
volumes, while in Britain 80 per
cent of RX sales are of the
hybrid version. The GS 450h
executive sports saloon also
outsells its conventionally
powered sister model and the new
LS 600h flagship limousine goes
on sale this month with an
advance order book filled for
the next six months.
As
well as marking important
advances in the performance of
hybrid models, September was an
all-round record-breaking month
for Lexus in the UK. The 3,381
new car sales set a new
benchmark for a single month,
and market share for the month
was also higher than ever
before, thanks to volume growth
of almost 24 per cent compared
to 2006.
Steve Settle, Lexus Director,
said: “Lexus continues to lead
the premium market and motor
industry with its extensive
range of hybrid power models.
Our advanced technology strategy
is proving its value, quality,
effectiveness and reliability,
helping make Lexus the first
choice for an ever greater
number of the most discerning
and demanding motorists.” |
