You don’t have to wait to buy a
stylish, all-electric car that
could save you up to £3,000 a
year on fuel and tax alone.
London’s NICE Car Company will
sell you one today.
The company is taking this
message to London Aware at the
Barbican, where it will be
exhibiting over the weekend. Its
stand will feature the current
model - the all-electric Mega
City - and NICE is keen to
emphasise more zero-emissions
models and more choices coming
to London in the summer.
“All-electric cars and urban
mobility go hand-in-hand” said
Evert Geurtsen co-founder NICE
Car Company. “It’s no secret
that mainstream car companies
are developing models for market
but they don’t expect them on
sale for a number of years. We
are one of the few that can
offer customers a choice today.
There are myriad benefits in
owning a NICE car –including
hard economics - and we look
forward to explaining all to
Londoners over the coming
weekend.”
Fuel prices have risen beyond £5
a gallon for diesel and petrol
is not far behind. With supply
problems in the headlines
recently drivers are
understandably concerned.
Cheaper motoring is just one
area where NICE owners win:
-
Running costs are estimated
at around 2p per mile,
around a tenth of the cost
for a standard car fuelled
by petrol.
-
There’s no annual road tax;
all NICE vehicles are
zero-emissions and therefore
exempt.
-
No congestion charge either;
NICE cars are exempt right
now
-
Free parking; many London
boroughs offer free parking
or beneficial rates for
drivers of all-electric
cars.
On
fuel and tax alone the company
estimates the saving could come
to more than £2,700 annually.
That’s a conservative estimate
based on just 4,000 miles
motoring and 240 trips within
the congestion charge zone. And
it doesn’t include the
significant savings made on
parking and parking tickets.
Of
course, owning a NICE car is not
just about saving money. The
cars are quiet, pollution-free
and are almost 100% recyclable.
Importantly, the Mega City is
voluntarily crash tested for
occupant protection by its
French manufacturer.
The Mega City starts at £10,847
on the road. It has a 40 mile
range from one charge and comes
with standard equipment
including CD-radio, electric
windows, parking sensors and
remote central locking. In
addition, it has a two-year
warranty.

and 11 May. |
