Škoda has unveiled a new addition to
its Fabia line-up: the Sport. It will sit atop the supermini range
alongside the current Fabia 3 flagship. Costing from £10,660, the Sport
represents excellent value for money coupled with a more aggressive,
purposeful look.
This new stance is achieved thanks to a
deeper, more sculpted front spoiler, 16-inch alloy wheels, boot spoiler,
a chrome exhaust pipe and rear diffuser. Buyers will also find lots of
extra kit (over the Fabia 2) including: curtain airbags, sunset glass,
sports seats, front fog lights and a three-spoke leather sports
steering wheel. All of which adds up to £1,825 of customer value for a
premium of just £940.
Prices start at £10,660 and £11,735
respectively for the 1.2 12V (70bhp) and 1.6 16V (105bhp) petrols. The
diesel duo cost £12,115 for the 1.4 TDI (80bhp) and £12,795 for the
larger 1.9TDI (105bhp). Insurance groupings that start as low as 3E
(for the 1.2 12V) and VED bands ranging from B to D, are also certain to
keep running costs down.
The first deliveries are expected at
the end of January 2008. Thereafter, the Fabia Sport will do battle with
the likes of the Ford Fiesta Zetec S and Vauxhall’s Corsa SXi
Head of Škoda UK, Chris Craft, said:
“There’s a proven appetite among British buyers for sporty looking cars
that don’t come with the added expense of a big engine. The Fabia Sport
looks fantastic, but won’t break the bank when it comes to insurance
premiums and fuel bills – which is particularly pertinent at the
moment.”

New Skoda Fabia Estate
UK prices and Spec |
Pricing and equipment levels for the
new Škoda Fabia Estate have been announced and it delivers higher
equipment levels and even better value for money than the outgoing
model. As customers have come to expect from ‘the Manufacturer of Happy
Drivers’, it makes a perfect option for drivers looking to squeeze the
most out of their budget.
The latest edition to Škoda’s line-up
takes everything that was great about the current model and makes it
even better......Larger in every key aspect than its predecessor (7mm
longer and 42mm more headroom) and with an impressive 1,460-litre
loading area (rear seats folded), customers have themselves an ‘extra
bit of car’ at a truly attractive price.
Bundled with all this extra space the
new Fabia Estate gets a fresh new ‘Škoda family’ design, a choice of six
engines, an abundance of storage trays, hooks and cubby holes to keep
possessions secure and even more passenger space – a real winner in a
segment where space is at a premium. The new Škoda Fabia Estate will
doubtless be more popular than the model it replaces. The full pricing
details are listed below.

As with the Fabia Hatch, the range is
called simply Fabia 1, 2 or 3. Even owners switching from the old
estate to the new will notice extra helpings of standard equipment
across the entire range.
The Fabia Estate was unveiled at the
Frankfurt Motorshow in September 2007 and will be launched in the UK on
7 February 2008. However, new and existing Škoda customers can start
placing their orders at their nearest retailers from 5 December 2007.
The new Škoda Fabia Estate is set to
build on the success of its predecessor, of which over 630,000 were sold
worldwide and some 31,000 found happy homes in the UK since its launch
in 2001. |
