The Telegraph reports
that TH!NK will be launching a new version of their two seater electric
city car. The Norwegian company aims to have the new generation
model in production for next year. The original Think City was
sold between 1999 and 2002 with 1005 cars being sold while under the
ownership of Ford. Like its predecessor, but now under a new
owners the New Think City will be made from the same rugged
thermoplastic exterior that doesn't rust or dent and will produce no
noise and released no exhaust emissions.
There will be a number
of improvements, most noticeable the range increasing from 85km to 185km
on the new model. Other improvement have made will provide a more
comfortable and safer ride.
A convertible version
has also been show to the public although Think say this is a concept
vehicle and have no immediate plans to put the car into production.
Think have also received funding to investing heavily into developing
hydrogen technology. Other projects underway at Think is the Think
Public (pictured above), design to seat four, with easy access, ideal
for fleet applications such as car sharing, airport use or in gated
communities.
Initially the new Think
City is likely to be available for lease in Norway and London where
there are incentives to drive electric car such an being congestion
charge exempt, lower taxes and free parking. |
