The Venturi Fetish was first displayed at
the 2004 Paris Motorshow and by doing so Venturi created on the one hand
a new segment, that of the electric sports car, and on the other hand
carried an extremely positive message for the future of the automobile,
composed of high performance and driving pleasure.
The Fetish Roadster is a 2 seater, rear
wheel drive electric car weighing in at an impressive 980kg thanks to
its light-weight design, carbon fibre body and advanced batteries.
The batteries weigh 248kg and are made up of 31 modules of Lithium Ion
batteries. These are liquid cooled and placed in a T formation in
the centre of the vehicle for best performance and road handling.
The Venturi can accelerate to 60mph in
under 5 seconds and produces 240bhp taking the car up to a limited
106mph. Torque is at a constant 162lb ft and available instantly
up to 14,000rpm.
An impressive driving range between 100
and 150 miles is achievable between charges depending on driving style
and conditions. The car also benefits from
a
regenerative braking system
which charges the car when the engine is decelerating. The
batteries life span is anticipated to last 150,000 miles or 10 years
before it need replacing, after which Venturi will arrange for disposal.
A full charge takes only 1 hour, or 3 hours from the on board charger.
On a 2-year trip around the world, the Fétish widely changed the
public’s opinion about the the electric vehicle while positioning
Venturi among the most accomplished technological companies in the world
in terms of mobility. The hand built
electric high-performance car will have an initial planned production
run of only 25 cars, the price being a massive 297,000Euros + VAT.
